Vitamin D3 1000IU, a critical part of absorption of calcium, magnesium and other trace elements and minerals. Vit D is known to be a key antioxidant and instrumental in prevention of osteoporosis and good bone growth and maintenance. Recent studies show it plays a role in preventing certain cancers of the colon.

The new 2010 recommended daily allowance (RDA) is 600 International Units (IU) for those 1-70 years of age and pregnant or breastfeeding women, and 800 IU for those over 71 years of age, however a number of studies have used levels of 1000IU/day or higher with positive results depending on the endpoint of the study.
